The objective of the Silver Academy is to help unemployed people start their own businesses.

It is a partnership between the University of Surrey and South East England Chambers of Commerce along with the southern Spanish region of Andalusia and the Malopolska region in Poland. The project is funded under the EU Interregional Cooperation programme INTERREG IVC.

The program has now started with 100 unemployed people mainly from Surrey and Hampshire being helped over a 6 month period from November 2010 to May 2011 including 7 one day workshops.

Len is the Lead Developer and responsible for the development of the toolkit and design and delivery of the workshops.
